PAINT SUFFOLK VA Saturday, September 14, 12 - 2 PM, during ‘Taste of Suffolk’ Downtown Street Festival.
“PAINT the TASTE”, formally known as Quick Draw, is a fun competition that asks Artists to complete an entire piece of Plein Air artwork quickly, within 120 minutes!

'PAINT the TASTE' Time-line:
11 - 11:45 AM:
Artists must register at the 'PAINT the TASTE' tent beginning at 11:00 where the artists must have blank canvases stamped and pick up their title and price label. Check-in at tent, located at Bank St. & Main St.
12 PM - 2 PM:
Artist begin to create en Plein Air at 12:00 noon at which time a horn will be blown. The artist must start with nothing pre-painted or pre-drawn and create the 'PAINT the TASTE' artwork only during the published time frame. Toned canvases are acceptable. All 2 dimensional mediums are acceptable except photography.
BOUNDARIES:
The geographic boundaries of the 'PAINT the TASTE' Competition are: Railroad Station, 326 N. Main St. to Farmers’ Feed and Seed, 117 S. Main St. and one block of Washington Street east and west. (157 E Washington St to 156 W. Washington St.)
2:00 PM: STOP PAINTING.
All artists must finish creating their artwork by 2:00 PM at which time a horn will be blown.
2:00 - 2:30 PM:
Painters bring artwork to the main stage at the Taste of Suffolk.
FRAME: For Adult entries, each 'PAINT the TASTE' painting must be framed or matted prior to the exhibit for ease of handling.
2:30 - 3:30 PM: EXHIBIT AND JUDGING:
All artists bring completed artwork, along with their personal easels, to the designated area. Event staff will assist the artist in setting up their easels and artwork for the 'PAINT the TASTE' Exhibit. Judging will begin at 2:30 p.m. and prizes awarded at 3:30 p.m. All artwork must remain until the exhibit ends at 4:00 PM. All artwork and easels must be picked up between 4:00 and 5:00 PM. Suffolk Plein Air is not responsible for any equipment or art left after 5:00 PM.
SELL YOUR ARTWORK!
All participating artists who wish to sell their original piece may do so at the conclusion of the 'PAINT the TASTE'. Each artwork for sale must have a title and price. Suffolk Plein Air will take 20% commission from each work that sells, and monetary transactions will be handled by event staff. Credit cards, checks and cash will be accepted. Artwork may be sold anytime during the event but must remain until the exhibit ends at 4:00 PM.
